Hello there!
It's been a minute since my last post. First off all, I’d like to extend my love to everyone who may have been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Non-essential shopping feels like a taboo subject at the moment, and however you feel, it’s definitely happening. I’m very grateful to be able to pack orders in isolation and post items with zero contact. And whilst not even I could argue jewellery is ‘essential’ I think it’s clear we’re all in need of a little pick me up right now.
Having work to do feels like a privilege. I’m feeling a little useless when I think about what our key workers are facing, but staying in is the best thing I can do for anyone right now.
I understand that these are unprecedented times, but rest assured, we are still open 24/7 at AuroraLux.ca, where you can enjoy shopping from the comfort of your home with free shipping. Please be welcome to reach out to me (Cheryl), if you have any concerns.
Small businesses are taking a serious financial hit during these times, so I’d like to direct your attention to a few of my personal favourites in Edmonton.
The Bamboo Ballroom
Check out their Instagram stories over at @bambooballroom.yeg (Calgary folks; @bambooballroom.yyc) and you’re in for a treat! Shop owner, Kyla and manager, CC get their groove on modelling the latest spring styles and maybe drinking a mimosa or two.
Sugar Soul Studio
My Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market long-time pal. Christine’s kimonos are a summer staple, her hats are meticulously made and a conversation starter, and as of late, her cotton fabric face masks have taken the city by storm. Although we aren’t able to sell at the farmers market any longer, shop online by clicking here.
Plantiful Apothecary
Amy makes amazing organic skincare. No, seriously. With ingredients locally sourced as well as from Canadian farmers & producers, she strives to find the best organic, whole plant ingredients for her products. I’m a huge fan of her Earl Grey Lip Balm and the Be Calm + Sleep Balm.
Fabloomosity Floral Atelier
I can’t think of a better thing to lift spirits than flowers. Janine and her team capture the imagination with their offerings. From their signature ‘Bloom Box’ to ChloraFIX plant subscriptions, you can’t go wrong for a little personal pick me up, or a surprise for a friend or loved one.
Frickin Delights Donuts - Devon & Whyte Ave.
Though their physical locations are closed during the outbreak, make sure to stop by to feast when we are given the all clear! The BEST donuts and a creative and delish menu. All vegan and gluten-full! #getinmybelly
Mad Love Jewelry
This is my younger sister’s (Laurie) jewelry biz. Not only my partner in crime for our little boutique at the Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market, she makes gorgeous adornments! Diffuser bracelets, necklaces, earrings and hair accessories. Check out her online shop here.
Thank you SO MUCH for your continuous support!
Sending love & light your way,
Cheryl
